I find it hard to locate the phrasing to describe what this place means to me, but I’ll try as what would be the point in my rambles…although at times a picture can speak for itself.
Get the time of day right, pick a moment in the spring when the birds are busy nesting, and what you’ve got is the perfect combination of fresh air and songs filling the trees.
This is as close to heaven that I’ll ever get.
Since last venturing along this towpath to the Thames, the Berkshire side, a few subtle things have altered. Turn the wrong way and you might miss the changes, but their positive effect for me makes me think that in some places, life on this planet just got better.
A couple of carved wooden seats to enjoy the view, and some pasture now protected from the vigorous development of Maidenhead’s urban sprawl… then there’s the view!
